Pickle's Blues Extravaganza 2009
Click on the video above to see students build their own home made cigar box guitars in Mike Huffman's art class at North Middle School this past December. Our Blues In The School artist, Eric "Joker" Baker, will be teaching these same students how to play their guitars January 12-January 16, 2009. He will also be teaching students at St. Gerard Elementary School about the history of cigar box instruments and will also be playing for them. Joker will also appear for the public Wednesday evening January 14 at 7:00 P.M. at The Allen County Museum, 620 West Market Street, Lima, Ohio 45805. Our Blues In The School program this year is sponsored in part by the Pony Keg and Goodwin Music. The Blues Committee is a 100% all volunteer organization. All profits from this event will be used for music scholarships for graduating seniors from Lima Senior High School, the Artist in Residency program headed up by The Council for the Arts of Greater Lima, and our week long Blues in the School program. |
